Site Sapiens GUI

Site Sapiens is an enterprise content management system including web content management system (WCMS), web-application development environment, web-integration platform.

Content Management
Site Sapiens serves 3 types of informational objects: documents, records (RM) and files (Digital Asset Management). Each object contains attributes, data ( in accord a field set), associative dependence lists, access lists. User interface of the system is built based on AJAX. Document management is realized by means tree interface, record management – by means grids, digital asset management - by means browsers. All interfaces support drag & drop and can be tuned by a user.

Templates
Site Sapiens is built based on XML Sapiens markup language. Therefore Site Sapiens serves templates of document representation, templates of data structures and templates of functionality.

Taxonomy
Mathematically the taxonomy of Site Sapiens can be designated as bidirectional graph. Within administrating session documents are arranged in hierarchical trees of resources of the informational space, where a structure section can contain a record set (grouped by informational channels), a channel record can be a record set. Within content delivery one can use grouping by associative dependences (one – association – many, many – association – many).

Extensibility
Site Sapiens is not a modular system. Web-application business logic is assigned by XML Sapiens markup language. Language abilities cover 90% of typical web-development tasks. However you can include plugins, if you need, using the event model, which is based on aspect oriented software development (AOSD) foundations.

Service-Oriented Architecture
User interfaces of Site Sapiens applications are built on the principles of service-oriented architecture (SOA). User forms get data from controllers, which can retrieve data from external servers by means SOAP. Service applications of Site Sapiens are created as web-services and can be distributed between different servers if it is necessary.
